Miss International Nepal 2016, Barsha Lekhi, has won the Missiology Public Choice Awards at the Miss International 2016 beauty contest held in Tokyo Japan on October 27, 2016. Barsha was one of the representatives of 69 contestants, who were representing their countries.
What is Miss International ?
Miss International is one of the top 4 beauty contests in the world comprising of the Miss World, Miss Universe and the Miss Earth beauty contests. The Tokyo-based international beauty pageant was held for the first time in 1960 in Long Beach, California, USA. The contestants in the beauty contest are expected to serve as “Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty”, demonstrating tenderness, benevolence, friendship, beauty, intelligence, ability to take action, and, most importantly, a great international sensibility. According to the official document, the ultimate goal of the Miss International beauty pageant is to promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding.
The Miss Nepal International 2015, Medha Koirala, has left to go to Tokyo, Japan to participate in Miss International 2015 on October 16. A press meet was organized to inform about Medha’s participation in the contest. In the press meet Medha appreciated the help of everybody despite the earthquake and economic blockade by India.
Medha is taking ‘Project Muskan’ in the international contest. Medha had helped the 13 orphan children of Muskan Sewa Nepal in Baneshowr by providing music therapy. Medha had trained the children with the help of three other helpers from Nepal Music Center.

When Hidden Treasure failed to send the video of Shritima Shah to Miss International 2013 organizing body, Nepali representative Shritima Shah wasn’t allowed to participate in the talent competition. She was well prepared for the competition and a mistake by the Miss Nepal organizers robbed her chance to participate. The following FB post by Shritima explains the case:
The completion in Japan lasted for 11 days and the result of every small competitions will be announced on the final day, on December 17, 2013.
In a Facebook message, Miss Nepal International 2013, Shritima Shah has told that she will try her best to make the country proud in the finale to be held on December 16, 2013. She also thanked everybody for the votes, training and designing her dresses.

Miss International Nepal 2013 Shritima Shah is leaving for Japan in a couple of weeks to participate in Miss International 2013. The 53rd edition of Miss International will take place on December 17, 2013 in Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall, Tokyo, Japan. The current Miss International is Ikumi Yoshimatsu of Japan.

For the first time in Nepal, four pageants were held on a single platform. The beauty contests Little Miss Nepal, Miss Teen International, Miss International, and Mrs. Nepal were held at the Nepal Army Officers Club, Bhadrakali on January 26, 2013. The beauty contests were organized by Eplanet Pvt. Ltd.
There were 20 participants in Little Miss Nepal, 15 participants in Miss Teen International, 15 participants in Miss International, and 15 participants in Mrs. Nepal.

Eventplanet Inc. has decided to organize all four of it’s beauty contest at the same time and called application from eligible participants. If you fall between the age of 7 years-old and 56 years-old female (impressive 49 years range) you might get a chance to participate in one of the contests.
The beauty contests include:
- Miss Teen (13 years – 19 years olds)
- Miss International (unmarried 19 to 28 years old)
- Mrs. Nepal (for married women between 21 to 56 years)
- Little Miss Nepal (7 to 13 years)
Audition dates are on Mangsir 24,28 and 30 (9, 13 and 15 December, 2012)
The organizers have told that the nine of the winners will be sent to one of the number of international beauty contests. The winner of Mrs. Nepal will participate in Mrs. International, the winner of Miss Teen will participate in Miss Teen International and the Miss International Nepal will participate in Miss International beauty contest to be held in the UA.
Subeksha Khadka has returned back home after representing Nepal in Miss International 2012 beauty pageant. Although she couldn’t win any titles, she has helped the world know more about Nepal and Nepali people.

Once, Miss Germany’s luggage didn’t arrive in time and Miss Nepal Subeksha came to the rescue of the German beauty by lending a great looking dress from her own collection. The black elegant dress worn by Miss Germany in the following photo was designed by Subexya Bhadel for Subeksha.
Such a kind gesture of Subeksha has conveyed a good image of Nepali people in an international arena. She has reflected the kind nature of Nepali people and that has made every Nepali proud.
