The 7th edition of Miss Pokhara has started in Pokhara. The event organized by Pokhara Jeycees is being held in association with Events for You. 17 contestants selected from three different auditions are contesting for the Miss Pokhara crown. According to the organizers, the final number of contestants is expected to be 20 and they are still looking for three more eligible contestants in the beauty contest.
The contestants are being trained for the personality development, leadership and other skills. Pokhara Jeycees had been very irregular in organizing the event in the past. To manage it better, Jeycees has selected Events for You for the management of the contest.
The grand finale of the event is scheduled to be held on Poush 15. The winner of the contest will win Rs. 50,000 in cash prize, a scooter and golden crown of Miss Pokhara 2015. This is the first time the winner is going to be crowned with a golden crown. The first runner up of the contest will win Rs. 30,000 in cash prize and the second runner up will win Rs. 20,000 cash prize.
The winner of Miss Pokhara will also get the direct entry into the Miss Nepal contest to be held next year. In Miss Nepal 2014, Miss Pokhara 2013 Rashmi Adhikari had got the direct entry in Miss Nepal 2014 beauty contest. (Read the biography of Rashmi Adhikari; news of Miss Pokhara 2013 winners)

History of Miss Pokhara
Although there were only six different editions of Miss Pokhara, it has a long history. The first Miss Pokhara beauty pageant was held in 1995.
The winner of Miss Pokhara 1996 was Neelima Gurung who later won Miss Nepal 1997.
The winner of Miss Nepal 2000, Usha Khagdi, was also the winner of Miss Pokhara.
After a long gap, Miss Pokhara resumed in 2013. But, there was no Miss Pokhara in 2014. Realizing the lack or regularity of the contest this year Pokhara Jeycees has decided to partner with event organizing company, Events for You, so that the regularity of the contest could be maintained in the future.
