Miss Tanahun 2015 is Sujana Shrestha

Sujana Shrestha has become the first ever Miss Tanahun after winning the Miss Tanahun 2015 crown. In the contest held on August 1, 2015 at BP Banbatika, 20-years-old beauty was crowned after being selected from the pool of 16 contestants. In the finale, the contestants were evaluated in ramp walk, question / answer, essay writing and other talents.

Sanju Ghale of Byas-11 was selected the first runner up and Sanjana Koirala of Byas- 2 won the second runner up title. In addition to the top titles, Sanju had also won Miss Punctual and Sanjana had won Miss Catwalk sub-titles.

Expose Nepal has announced three beauty contests targeted to young boys, girls and married women. The beauty contest for teens aged between 15 years old to 19 years old can participate in Miss Rajdhani. youths aged 15 to 19 can participate in Mr. Rajdhani and married women aged between 21 and 45 years can participate in Mrs. Rajdhani.

Anusha Karki is Miss Nepal California 2015

First ever beauty contest among girls of Nepali origin, Miss California Nepal, was held in California, USA on July 4. Miss Nepal 2011, Malina Joshi, had groomed the contestants before the contest. The contest and cultural program was held to help rebuild the school after the earthquake in Nepal. Famous artists including Nima Rumba, Hemanta Rana, Nalina Chitrakar, Astha Bhandari, Kumar Bhattarai and Saroj Dutta had participated in the cultural program.

Anusha Karki was crowned the Miss Nepal California 2015 by Malina Joshi. Sushma Pant was the first runner up and Anisha Oli was the second runner up.

Miss Nepal US 2015 Application open

Young girls of Nepali origin aged between 18 to 29 years old are eligible to apply for the Miss Nepal 2015 contest. The application should be 18 and 29 at the time of the submission of the application and should be unmarried until the end of August 2015.

Eligible North America residents (US or Canada) can apply by paying a non-refundable fee of $50. There are different terms and conditions (including some blunders like rolex replica watches, as seen in the attached screenshot.)

There is no mention of the deadline. So, hurry up and apply if you are eligible and interested. In 2014 edition, the deadline was in June.

Numa Limbu is Miss Bhutan US 2015

In the beauty contest, Miss Bhutan US, held on June 21, 2015 in the USA, Numa Limbu has been crowned the title. The second Miss Bhutan US, Numa LImbu, is a beautician by profession. Miss Bhutan US 2014, Prakriti Rai, crowned the new Miss Bhutan US.

The Himalayan Singing Icon 2015 title was won by Baba Rai. The Himalayan Thematic Short Movie competition was won by Team Nexus Creation.

Miss SLC Pokhara 2015 is Dipshana Khadka

In the Miss SLC Pokhara 2015 beauty contest held on June 12, 2015, Dipshana Khadka has won the crown. Dipshana was selected from the pool of 15 finalist SLC beauties. In addition to winning the crown, Dipsana has also won four sub-titles including Miss Catwalk, Viewers Choice, Miss Punctual, and Miss Healthy Hair. After winning the title, Dipshana was awarded Rs. 25,000 in cash prize and a scholarship of value Rs. 150,000.

The first runner-up of the contest was Pratikshya Rana was awarded Rs. 15,000 cash prize and an oppurtunity to model in a music video. Rana had also won the Miss Photogenic title. The second runner-up Sweata Ranabhat was awarded Rs. 10,000 in cash.

Miss SLC Pokhara 2015 being held on Friday, June 12

A beauty contest among the young girls who had recently appeared in the SLC examination in Pokhara is being held on Friday, June 12, 2015. In preparation for the contest, the contestants were going through a closed training for the last one and half month.

The contestant were trained on personality development, public speaking, leadership, dancing, catwalk and so on. The trainers were Mrs. Pokhara (Sarita Gurung) and Trishna Chhetri.

The deadline of Miss Bhutan US 2015 is approaching. If you are a young girl of Bhutan origin and living in the USA and interested in participating in the beauty contest, you can visit the website to register for the contest. The registration should be completed on or prior to June 10, 2015.

The choreography and training for Miss Bhutan US starts on June 15 , 2015 at Nashville. The contestants will gather at the location on June 14, 2015 for the 5-days-long, 8 hours a day, by Miss Nepal 2011 and actress, Malina Joshi. The training helps the participatns to get the best out of themselves with optimism and enthusiasm. The contest will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 10:00am (PDT) at 5252 Hickory Hollow Pkwy, Antioch, TN 37013.

Little Miss World Nepal 2014, Garima Gyawali goes to Turkey

The winner of Miss Little Idol 2012, Garima Gyawali has gone to Turkey to participate in the Festival Model and Teen World 2015. 13 years old Gyawali was selected in among the 9-18 years old girls by House of Events Nepal. The event runs April 19 to April 26 in Antalya of Turkey. There are 42 contestants from 27 different countries in the event. This is the first time Nepal has participated in the event.

In addition to this year’s event, Garima will also participate in Expo 2016.

Priyanka Shrestha is Miss Purwanchal 2015

Priyanka Shrestha of Biratnagar has won the sixth Miss Purwanchal beauty contest. The 18-years old beauty has won the biggest beauty contest of the East Nepal in the event held in Dharan on April 16, 2015. (read Full coverage in xnepali). The summary of the title winners:

Miss Purbanchal 2015 – Priyanka Shrestha from Biratnagar. Age 18-years. Also Miss Public Choice.
Miss Purbanchal 2015, runner up – Anu Rai, from Dharan, age 20 years. Also Miss Talent.
Miss Purbanchal 2015, second runner up – Pramisha Bajracharya of Damak, Jhapa, age 20 years

Priyanka wins a scooty and Hong Kong travel. Brand ambassador of the Hotel Association of Bhedetar, Asara Sudhar Kendra and Budhasubba Gold Cup.
