In the year 1996, the third Miss Nepal beauty contest was held. In the contest, there were 16 contestants from all over Nepal. The winners of the contest were:

The contestant number 9, Jyoti Pradhan was crowned Miss Nepal 1998. But, Jyoti was stripped off of her crowned when she didn’t return back home after participating in an international contest.
The official Miss Nepal 1998 is the contestant number 4, Niru Shrestha. Niru was originally the first runner up. There is no official first runner up. The second runner up is Sreejana KC. Prabha Amatya and Kristi Shrestha were the third and the fourth runner ups respectively.
Niru Shrestha later pursued career as a pilot. Niru is the only Miss Nepal in that field. Until 1998, no official Miss Nepal was of Newar ethnicity (when Miss Nepal World 1997 is not considered Miss Nepal).
Newar Miss Nepal
The year 1998 marks the start of the crowning of Miss Nepal of Newar ethnicity. It was not only the dethroned Miss Nepal, Jyoti Pradhan was Newar, the Miss Nepal 1998 Niru Shrestha, is also a Newar. After that, more than half of all the Miss Nepal were of Newar ethnicity. The following two lists compare the Miss Nepal of Newar ethnicity.

The auditions and the selection of the finalists of this year’s Miss Nepal is over and the finalists are being trained for the final to be held on April 8, 2016. Miss Nepal 2002 Malvika Subba shared the following photo taken with the contestants of Miss Nepal 2016. Miss Nepal contest started in 1994 and had been held every year since then with few exceptions in between. The current Miss Nepal contest is the 21st edition.
Miss Nepal 2009 Zenisha Moktan has married Dikesh Malhotra in a ceremony held on Friday, Feb 26, 2016. The marriage ceremony had been going on for the last few days with reception parties before the marriage.
Zenisha and Dikesh were having affair for the last few years. The cousin of Zenisha’s friend and well known actress, Priyanka Kaarki, Dikesh Malhotra is the chief of the authorized dealer of Samsung mobile in Nepal.
The Miss Nepal 2009, model and VJ, Zenisha Moktan is getting married on Friday, February 26. According to a latest report, the preparation for the marriage has been going on for the last few days.
On Falgun 8 they exchanged janai supari among their families according to the Newari tradition. The Mehandi ceremony was held according to the Indian traditions. Zenisha and Dikesh had also participated in Bachelor’s parties recently.

Miss Nepal Evana Manandhar didn’t win any titled in Miss World beauty contest held Saturday in China. The Miss World 2015 crown was handed over to Miss Spain. The first runner up of the contest was Miss Russia and the second runner up was Miss Indonesia. Apart from top titles, there were various sub-competitions and sub-titles. Evana didn’t win any such titles in the contest.
Evana did a good dance on a Nepali song on the Dance of the World contest. She had also prepared a good video about the earthquake in Nepal for the Beauty with Purpose contest. But, in spite of being good, they didn’t help Evana win titles.
Evana was crowned the 20th Miss Nepal in an event held on April 18, 2015. A week after the crowning ceremony, Nepal went into mourning because of the earthquake on April 25.
