Miss Nepal 2016 Asmee Shrestha has gone to the USA to represent Nepal in the Miss World beauty contest. Asmee left Nepal to Washington DC on Friady, November 25, 2016. On leaving Nepal, Asmee told that she will do her best to bring home the crown.
The 66th edition of the Miss World 2016 contest is going to be held on December 18, 2016. In the Miss World 2013, Miss Nepal Ishani Shrestha had won Beauty of Purpose title. That was the most Nepali contestant have ever achieved in the international contest. For this year’s Beauty with purpose title, Asmee had worked in children and education.
A beautiful vegetable vendor in Gorkha was photographer by a random guy and shared in Facebook. If he were in Europe or America, he would have been sued but, Nepal is a different world. The photo of the 18-years-old girl went viral before Kusum Shrestha even knew about it. She became an overnight celebrity.

Miss International Nepal 2016, Barsha Lekhi, has won the Missiology Public Choice Awards at the Miss International 2016 beauty contest held in Tokyo Japan on October 27, 2016. Barsha was one of the representatives of 69 contestants, who were representing their countries.
What is Miss International ?
Miss International is one of the top 4 beauty contests in the world comprising of the Miss World, Miss Universe and the Miss Earth beauty contests. The Tokyo-based international beauty pageant was held for the first time in 1960 in Long Beach, California, USA. The contestants in the beauty contest are expected to serve as “Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty”, demonstrating tenderness, benevolence, friendship, beauty, intelligence, ability to take action, and, most importantly, a great international sensibility. According to the official document, the ultimate goal of the Miss International beauty pageant is to promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding.
Singer and model Jyoti Magar is one of the fattest model in the Nepali entertainment industry. Entertainment industry is not favourable to fat models. But, Jyoti Magar is an exception. Being fat has become a blessing to Jyoti Magar and she has taken advantage of the fact that she has better body parts and she liberally shows off her body. That is the main reason Jyoti is in high demand in stage shows in Nepal and out of country. She is also a hot cake in the Nepali music videos. Being fat isn’t always helpful. One example is one of the hottest dancers of her time, Samjhana Budhathoki. Samjhana was in high demand in the stage shows in country and in foreign country. But, after she gained a lot of weight, these days, Samjahna’s demand has diminished. She is not featured in any music videos and isn’t seen in any stage shows. She did her first fashion walk in the New York Fashion Week, for for mentor and close friend Prabal Gurung. That was 5 years ago, while doing her Bachelors degree in Hotel Management in India. Varsha is the first model from Nepal to be signed by a leading international agencies. She is also the first Nepali model who had walked at the New York and Paris Fashion week.
In the 8th Miss Pokhara finale held at Pokhara Sabhagriha, Sadichha Pandey was crowned the Miss Pokhara 2016 title. 21 years-old Sadichha, selected from the pool of 11 Pokhareli contestants, was also Miss Viewers Choice and Miss Popularity sub-title winner. The first runner up of the contest was Rashmi Thapa. The second runner up was Unnati Gurung.
Miss Pokhara 2016, Pandey, was awarded Rs. 50,000 in cash prize and a scooter. She would also be the confirmed participant of Miss Nepal 2017. The first runner up Thapa was awarded Rs. 30,000 and the second runner up Gurung was awarded Rs. 20,000 cash and a mobile phone each.
The 14th Miss Teen Nepal 2016 title went to Jasmin Khadka. In the beauty contest held among teen girls at Pragya Bhawan, Kamaladi, Jasmin also won the Miss Photogenic title.
The first runner up of the contest was Urja Newa. 18-years old Urja also won Miss Discipline sub-title. The second runner up was 18-years-old Anuskha Adhikari. Continue reading
For the first time in Nepal, Miss Bishowkarma beauty contest was held in Kathmandu. The winner of Miss Bishowkarms 2016 was Chetkumari Bishowkarma. The first runner up of the contest was Bhawana Lamgade and the second runner up was Sujan Shah Shankar.
In the beauty contest organized by Creative insight Media, the contest was held at the Army Officers Club, Sundhara. The chief guest of the event was minister Shankar Bhandari. The judges of the contest were singer Sitaram Kharel, actor Ramesh Upreti, journalist Saroj KC, journalist Gita Adhikari, and Dr. Ayushman Ghimire. The chief judge was Min Bishowkarma.

The first Mrs. Tamang, Mrs. Tamang 2016 was held in Kathmandu among 18 contestants. Shanti Tamang of Darkha, Dhading won the title in the contest held on September 13, 2016. After winning the title, Shanti was awarded with Diyo Scooty from Hero and a 3G mobile of CTV.
The first runner up of the contest was Anu Kumari Rama. Anu Kumari was awarded Rs. 50,000 in cash and a 3G mobile. The second, third, fourth and the fifth runners up were Anita Lama, Sunita Ghalan, Shyam Maya Lama and Radha Thokar respectively. In the first phase of the contest top 10 were selected from the pool of 18 contestants. These contestants were awarded with different sub-titles including Mrs. Photogenic, Co-operative, Intelligent, Facebook, Popular, Walking, Friendship and Dress.
